The mystery remains around the circumstances in which died two men whose bodies were found on Tuesday in two different places in Martinique.

The two victims were discovered at sea, respectively off the beaches of Anse Madame in Schœlcher and Raisiniers in Carbet.

The individual found dead in Schoelcher is 44 years old.

He had gone swimming and was spotted unconscious in the water.

Brought back to the beach, he could not be saved by the firefighters and the doctors of the Samu.

The other victim is said to be a 34-year-old resident of Basse-Pointe (Martinique).

He was last seen alive at a party on a beach in Carbet.

Relatives had reported him missing on Monday evening.
