During the Easter weekend, violent riots broke out in several Swedish cities.

In Linköping, Norrköping, Stockholm, Örebro, Landskrona and Malmö where a large number of police and private individuals were injured.

The police link the riots to criminal gangs and see signs of incitement from abroad.

- These are extremely serious crimes that in recent days have been directed at our society, police and other blue light personnel.

They have shown an indifference to human life and health that we have not seen before.

We must stop this and show that those who commit these crimes will not escape, says National Police Chief Anders Thornberg.
