RT helped 59-year-old Oleg Kirsanov and his wife Tatyana find their daughter and grandson, who were injured while trying to leave Mariupol.

According to the man, they tried to leave the city after their house was shelled by the Ukrainian military, who settled on the territory of the Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works.

As the interlocutor of RT notes, the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at his house, located opposite the enterprise, from the workshop in which he worked from the age of 17.

“We had nothing to drink at home and nothing to cook on.

Therefore, on March 30, in the morning, I rode a bicycle to fetch water,” says Kirsanov.

- I scored six eggplants, but I didn’t have time to get to my lane - they started shooting from the factory.

One shell hit the neighbor's house directly, the roof was blown off.

I to myself.

We hid in the basement.

The shells are getting closer and closer, and one hit right next to the cellar.

It was lucky that it got stuck in the root of the hazel.

I was shocked: from my native factory, we were shot by our “defenders” — the Ukrainian military.”

According to the man, there were six of them in the cellar: himself, his wife Tatyana, son Denis and daughter Olga with their son-in-law and grandson.

But staying there was dangerous.

The house burned down, and the family moved to nearby garages.

“Neighbors said we could hide in garages across the street for the night.

There we settled down.

My wife and son and I - separately, Olya with Dima and Yegorka - separately, ”says Kirsanov.

He recalls the last time he saw his son-in-law at 04:00.

“He said good morning to me, and then shelling again.

They hit the garages.

Screams, our garage is jammed.

Denis got out, opened the door, says the man.

- When we were able to get out, Olya and Yegor had already been pulled out.

Dima covered them with himself and died.

We couldn’t even bury him – we had to run faster.”

According to the Mariupol resident, they ran to the canteen building, where there was another bomb shelter, and hid there.

He says that they were very lucky, because among those who took refuge in the basement, there was a nurse.

She gave Olga and four-year-old Egor first aid: stopped the bleeding and bandaged the wounds.

The next day, Oleg Kirsanov managed to find a wheelchair, into which they threw things and put Olga and her son.

“Yegor had a shrapnel wound to his leg and a broken arm, but he didn’t even cry.

So patient.

When we stopped to rest, he asked me to move on as soon as possible: "Grandfather, let's go," and he held my finger.

So we walked six kilometers, - Kirsanov sighs.

“Then we met a man and a woman.

They took Olya, Yegorka and his wife to the nearest hospital.”

According to the man, in the 2nd hospital, located in the 17th microdistrict of the city, the situation was controlled by the DPR troops.

There, Olga and Yegor were operated on and the fragments were pulled out.

Then they were transferred by ambulance to a clinic in Mangush (a village near Mariupol, where a temporary accommodation center (TAC) for refugees is located), and from there to Donetsk.

Kirsanov says that no one warned him and his wife that their daughter and grandson could be taken to a Donetsk hospital.

“We arrived in Mangush, paid a lot of money for a taxi, settled in a TAP.

We went to the hospital, and they told us that there were no such people here anymore, that they were taken to Donetsk as very heavy ones.

And no one knows how to find them there and contact them, ”recalls Oleg.

“We were completely unaware.

They didn’t explain anything to us normally, they didn’t prompt.

In what such a serious condition, what happened to them?

We thought that their legs were amputated,” Tatyana Kirsanova cries.

In Mangush, the Kirsanovs were met by RT journalists who brought humanitarian aid to the TAP.

Oleg and Tatyana told reporters about their situation, after which RT helped them find their daughter and grandson in Donetsk.

“The last time we saw each other was April 2.

And finally, we saw them and realized that everything was in order with them.

We were afraid that we were separated forever and would never find them again,” says Kirsanov.

We are very glad that we met.

Thank you.

We are happy that we are all together.

Everything will be fine now."

According to him, they have nowhere to return - the house burned down.

“This is the super hypocrisy of the Ukrainian authorities – the execution of civilians.

It’s just a betrayal,” the man says.

- If Mariupol is rebuilt, I would like to return.

I lived there all my life.

Granddaughter loves the sea.

But if the Ukrainian government is there, we won’t go back.”
