It was during a sex encounter in a town in Hälsingland in the spring of 2020 that a woman was subjected to several abuses.

According to the prosecutor, she must have been so drunk that she was in a particularly vulnerable situation and did not participate voluntarily.

Three men, a man from Dalarna, one from Hälsingland and one from Västernorrland were sentenced in early March to various lengthy prison terms in the district court.

The man from Hälsingland, eight years old, received the longest for several charges, including aggravated rape.

The men from Västernorrland and Dalarna were sentenced to eight and seven months in prison respectively.

Everyone appealed

The verdict was appealed both by the convicts and also by the prosecutor.

The three men want to avoid prison, while the prosecutor wants everyone to be convicted of aggravated rape and thus receive a harsher prison sentence.

The Court of Appeal hearings will last a total of two days.

They begin on Tuesday and are then taken up again on April 26.
