A man in his twenties was apparently taken by a stroke of madness on Monday afternoon.
The gendarmes had come to his home in Castelnau-le-Lez, a town in the metropolitan area of Montpellier, for an undetermined reason.
During this intervention, he allegedly managed to steal a soldier's weapon before shooting himself and then getting out of a window.
Injured in the legs, he was transported to the CHRU of Montpellier.
His vital prognosis is not engaged.
