The Sabuncoglu Sharif El-Din Hospital, affiliated with the Turkish Amasya University, taught the Holy Quran to patients during the current month of Ramadan 2022.

A video clip showed patients learning Arabic letters first, then reciting some short verses from the Holy Qur'an, taking advantage of the time they spent on dialysis.

Omar Zeytin, one of the patients receiving treatment in the hospital, told the Turkish newspaper, Yeniakit, "We were lying here for 4 hours without doing anything during the treatment. I want to read the whole Qur'an."

And his colleague Osman Ozdemir added, "Praise be to God, we are Muslims. Do we not want to read and memorize the Qur'an? May God be pleased with those who made this beginning in this month."

"Through this training we provide to our patients who are looking for healing, we are giving a message that they can read the Qur'an at any time and in any situation," said Omar Jaigi, the hospital's in charge of the initiative.
