There were several explosions at a school in the Afghan capital Kabul on Tuesday.

There were fears of deaths and injuries among the students.

There were at least two explosions at a school in western Kabul, said a spokesman for the Islamist-led interior ministry.

He did not provide any information about the dead or injured.

A security official said the detonations came from a hand grenade.

Local Taliban authorities cordoned off the area and confiscated some journalists' cameras.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

There have been several attacks in the west of the city in the recent past.

The terrorist militia "Islamic State" (IS) claimed a large part of it for itself.

Bombings near a school in May 2021 killed at least 85 civilians - mostly schoolgirls - and injured dozens more.
