The Federal Chairman of the Left is troubled by a “Spiegel” report, according to which there have been sexual assaults in the Wiesbaden district association of the Left and in the state party for years.
This prompted Wissler to make a long statement on Good Friday, in which she also revealed some things about her private life that she otherwise keeps out of the public eye.
The matter will keep the already ailing party busy for a long time, especially since there was talk of other cases at the weekend.

In state politics, however, one scandal is overshadowed by another.
A report by "Welt am Sonntag" revealed what the responsible authorities had not announced for months, but then immediately admitted: Listeria in vegetables caused illness in two hospitals in Frankfurt and Offenbach and resulted in death in one case of a patient.
The germs stuck to vegetables from a company in Gernsheim that specialized in chopping cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce.
Hesse's Minister of Consumer Affairs, Priska Hinz (The Greens), faces severe attacks from the opposition in the state parliament, especially since food control was only recently snubbed by the state audit office.
The district administrator of the Groß-Gerau district, Thomas Will (SPD), doesn't look really good either.
He frankly admitted
