In Russia, after the start of a military special operation in Ukraine, the number of cases of crimes related to the use of IT technologies has decreased.

This was reported to RT in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

“I want to note that since the beginning of the military special operation on the territory of Ukraine, the growth, or rather, the lack of registration for such types of crimes (remote fraud), can be said to be 95-97%,” said Oleg Baranov, head of the Metropolitan Police, during a meeting of the Moscow City Duma.

He also noted that 80% of cases of Internet fraud came from Ukraine.

Earlier, RT reported that in the liberated Berdyansk, the security forces discovered an abandoned call center from where Ukrainian scammers worked.

Instructions for employees were found in the office.

“Here you can clearly see how to deceive the citizens of the Russian Federation.

Who to call, what words to say.

Here we see - here is a phrase, let's say "deposit", "balance", "savings account".

That is, a step-by-step instruction for performing fraudulent actions, "" one of the security officials who conducted a search in the office told RT.

In turn, the deputy chairman of Sberbank, Stanislav Kuznetsov, said that the temporary decline in telephone fraud against Russians was due to the “relocation” of intruders.

“Fraud call centers are curtailing their activities in their “capital” Dnipro, the recruitment of “employees” is now going on in Lviv, Zaporozhye, Odessa and Baku,” Kuznetsov told RIA Novosti.

So, on the Ukrainian site Jooble you can find vacancies for a call center operator with a prerequisite - knowledge of the Russian language at a conversational level.

For example, a vacancy from Lviv for UAH 18,000 promises a comfortable spacious office, a schedule from 10 to 19, delicious coffee and sweets.

"State of alertness"

Lawyer, managing partner of AVG Legal Alexei Gavrishev believes that the decline in calls from scammers posing as bank employees is rather conditional.

“The number of calls has remained at the same level, but citizens have become more vigilant, and therefore the number of cases of fraud brought to its logical conclusion has really decreased,” explains Gavrishev RT.

“Newer schemes of remote deception of citizens appear every day, one of them is calls from scammers posing as law enforcement officers who ultimately extort money from their victims.”

According to the lawyer, a person who has become a victim of fraudsters must immediately contact law enforcement agencies with a statement about the crime, in which all the details of what happened should be detailed.

Also, with a statement about the crime, it is worth contacting the bank where the victim's account is opened.

“It should be understood that the probability of solving such a case is extremely small, since the final recipients of the stolen funds, as a rule, are abroad on the territory of countries unfriendly to the Russian Federation, which, for political reasons, in violation of international conventions and agreements, ignore the requests and instructions of Russian law enforcement authorities, prosecutors and courts,” says Gavrishev.

Psychologist, body-oriented therapist Maria Polyakova, in an interview with RT, said that because of the special operation, people became more careful, and it became more difficult for fraudsters to find victims.

“People are rather in a state of alertness, so we can talk about their more conscious behavior, that is, they will be more resistant to deception.

I observed situations in different stores where people very carefully checked the check after the purchase, says Polyakova.

- In other words, people have become more distrustful and attentive, so it will be much more difficult for fraudsters to find "victims" and in this case the situation plays against them, it keeps most people "in good shape."

The psychologist recommends not to succumb to panic moods, to strengthen your “psychological immunity”, to take care of your emotional state, that is, to be more resistant to the influence of external factors.

Military expert Viktor Litovkin, in an interview with RT, suggested that the rise of fraud in Ukraine was not accidental, since the Russians there have been represented as enemies over the past years.

At the same time, he believes that the decline in fraud cases is a temporary phenomenon.

“Business and nothing personal.

To whom is the war, and to whom is the mother dear, as the people say.

This business flourished before the special operation, so I think it will flourish after the special operation.

“You don’t need a knife for a fool, you lie to him in three boxes - and do with him what you want!”

This is about it, ”the expert believes.
