Construction of China-aided vaccine cold storage project in Egypt starts

Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang and Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Health Jafar attended the ceremony.

  Liao Liqiang said that the successful launch of this project is another historic moment for China-Egypt anti-epidemic cooperation.

Since the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, China and Egypt have always fought the epidemic side by side, and have carried out fruitful cooperation in the field of health care, deepening the traditional friendship and political mutual trust between the two countries, and setting a model for international cooperation in fighting the epidemic.

  Liao Liqiang said that the modern vaccine cold storage aided by China Kexing will greatly enhance Egypt's vaccine storage capacity and help Egypt achieve its goal of vaccinating 70% of the population by the middle of this year.

China will actively implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and continue to strengthen cooperation with Egypt in the field of health.

  Jafar said that under the personal care and guidance of the leaders of the two countries, Egypt and China have always supported each other, fought the epidemic in solidarity, and continuously deepened practical cooperation in the field of health care.

The modern cold storage aided by China Sinovac will enhance Egypt's localized production, storage and distribution capabilities of vaccines.

Jafar expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government and people for their long-term support and assistance to Egypt's health development.

  The vaccine cold storage project was undertaken by the Egypt Branch of China State Construction Engineering Corporation. It covers an area of ​​2,800 square meters and can store 150 million doses of vaccines after completion.
