"Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich.

I, the wife of an opposition Ukrainian politician, People's Deputy of Ukraine Viktor Medvedchuk, appeal to you with a request for help in exchanging my husband, who was illegally detained by the Kiev authorities for political reasons," Marchenko said in a video message.

She asked the President of Russia for help.

“You know perfectly well that the court held against Viktor has nothing to do with common sense and is a vivid example of unlawful reprisals against an objectionable politician for his consistent, principled and open position,” Marchenko said.

Earlier, Marchenko published a video message to the relatives of two British mercenaries who were captured by Russia and the DPR, urging them to ask the British Prime Minister to influence Kyiv and exchange them for Medvedchuk.

She also recorded an appeal to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asking him to release her husband and asked Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan for help.
