The Qatari Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque on Friday and the attack on worshipers in it, stressing Qatar’s firm position on the justice of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the full right to practice their religious rites.

This came during a call between the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, with a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Hussein Al Sheikh, where the latter briefed the Qatari minister on developments related to the Israeli escalation in occupied Jerusalem, the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the assault on worshipers.

For his part, the Qatari Foreign Minister affirmed his country's firm position and support for the legitimate Palestinian national rights, and its condemnation of the Israeli incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque and the attack on worshipers. The two sides agreed to continue bilateral coordination and joint action at the Arab, regional and international levels.

A statement by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the attack on worshipers, and specifically condemned the occupation forces’ storming of the tribal mosque and the arrest of worshipers inside it, which is a new addition to the repeated violations of the sanctity of the mosque, and the ministry promised that a provocation to the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world. In its statement, published by Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Qatari Foreign Ministry stressed that these repeated and systematic attacks by the occupation on the defenseless Palestinian people and the sanctities of Muslims are the result of the repeated impunity of the occupation from accountability, the failure of the international community to the Palestinian cause, and its failure to implement the provisions of international law and protect the rights of the Palestinian people. .

The statement stressed the need for urgent international action to stop the repeated Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

On Thursday, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, had made two phone calls to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and to the head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) Ismail Haniyeh, in which they discussed the latest developments on the Palestinian arena. And the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among which is the establishment of their independent state on their homeland, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
