A demonstration protesting Russia's military invasion of Ukraine was held in Germany, with many calling for a halt to the fighting and urging Germany to stop importing energy from Russia.

The demonstration was called by groups such as Ukrainian residents in Germany, and about 700 people gathered in the square in the center of the capital Berlin.

Many people who had evacuated from Ukraine after the invasion also participated and appealed for support by holding placards saying "Stop the war" or "Help Ukraine".

Some participants wore blood-stained clothes and tied their hands with strings in an attempt to convey the damage caused by the murder of a civilian near the Ukrainian capital, Kieu.

In addition, since Russia accounts for a large proportion of the import of energy such as natural gas, Germany has repeatedly called for a ban on imports, calling for increased pressure on Russia.

A woman in her twenties evacuating from Odesa in southern Ukraine said, "Germany wants Putin to clearly tell him to stop the war. He should stop trading gas and oil."

A German man in his 60s said, "I can't stand what Russia does. I don't mean it, but I need military assistance to Ukraine."
