On Good Friday, Paludan went to Stockholm, where there was also a fight and a stone-throwing.

In the evening, chaos arose in Örebro when five hundred people gathered to protest.

On Easter Eve, another gathering is planned in Landskrona.

- We have previously allocated resources to handle this, but now of course you have to take another collective grip on the situation given what has happened in recent days, says Kim Hild, press spokesperson at Police Region South, to TT.

She emphasizes that there have been plans for it to become violent.

- Of course, there is an increased risk that it could be messy and connect more compared to what it looked like before.

The police are awaiting the situation

When Paludan applied to hold meetings in several Stockholm suburbs in 2020, he was refused by the police with reference to the fact that the events were judged to constitute serious threats to order and security.

TT: Why have you not chosen to withdraw the permit considering what happened in Linköping, Rinkeby and Örebro?

-

It has above all to do with the fact that the protection to be able to exercise their rights to demonstrate and express themselves weighs enormously heavily and it takes an incredible amount for these to be ignored, says Kim Hild, and continues:

- But of course there is an opportunity to cancel the meeting, it depends on how you assess the situation.

TT: So it may be that the permit is revoked?

-

That could be the case or that the place be moved.

Warning shot in Örebro

During the operation in Örebro, four police cars were set on fire and at least one private person was injured in the chaos.

On Easter morning, the police region Bergslagen's press contact Lars Hedelin states that twelve police officers were injured during the riots.

- There are injuries from stone and blows and violence, possibly some fractures but it is not life-threatening thank goodness, says Hedelin.

No one has yet been arrested or suspected of the events in Örebro, which are being investigated as a violent riot, the police state.

Eight people were arrested in Stockholm on Friday, suspected of violent rioting, in connection with Paludan's gathering in Rinkeby.

Riots in Östergötland

On Maundy Thursday, riots broke out in Linköping and Norrköping when Paludan received permission to organize gatherings where the Koran was to be burned.

Rescue workers and police were also attacked on these occasions.

Police vehicles were set on fire and three police officers and two private individuals were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

In Linköping, seven people were arrested and in Norrköping at least two, all suspected of violent riots.
