Osinachi Nwachukwu died on April 8, after several days of hospitalization, in Abuja.

After her death, members of her entourage, including her mother, claim that the singer was under the influence of her violent husband.

Peter Nwachukwu, who was also the gospel singer's agent, was questioned by Nigerian police.

Investigators searched the couple's home.

Earlier this week, the Youth branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria wrote to the Inspector General of Police asking for an investigation on the basis of credible testimony that the artist had been fatally injured by her husband.

“

Recurrent violence

”, writes the youth association, kept hidden.

The founder of the Dunamis International Gospel Center Evangelical Church, to which Osinachi Nwachukwu belonged, spoke in a

video

published on Wednesday evening.

Pastor Paul Enenche assures that he was unaware, before his death, that the artist suffered the violence of her husband, adding that he was only aware of health problems detected in the lungs.

The Nigerian NGO Children and Young People Living for Peace (CYPLP), mobilized in the fight against domestic violence, is calling for light to be shed on the circumstances of the singer's death.

Osinachi Nwachukwu, the performer of the

hit Ekwueme

, was 42 years old.
