Four fatal attacks have occurred in a short time in Israel.

The terrorist movement IS has taken on several of the acts of violence.

On April 7, three people were killed and at least ten were injured in a shooting at a bar in central Tel Aviv.

The Palestinian man who opened fire on the visitors was later shot dead by Israeli security police.

Both the terror-branded Hamas and the armed militant extremist movement Islamic Jihad have said they welcomed the act, but did not take responsibility.

The violence of recent weeks is the deadliest in Israel in several years, states SVT's correspondent Samir Abu Eid, who together with photographer Salim Alsabbagh has been in Israel in connection with several of the acts.

- The sudden terrorist attacks in recent times have come as a surprise to many, and there is a concern that people are inspired to carry out more acts.

In the worst case, more acts and more violence can lead to another war.

It happened last year and it can happen again, says Samir Abu Eid.

Holidays coincide

Last year, confrontations between Palestinians and the Israeli military during Ramadan led to an eleven-day war between Israel and extremists in Gaza.

Ramadan is going on right now and there is a concern in Israel linked to the fact that Ramadan this year coincides with the Christian Passover and Jewish Passover, one of the most important Jewish holidays.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque has long been at the center of conflicts between Israel and Palestine - due to the place's importance in both Islam and Judaism.

- It plays a huge role how Israel acts around possible roadblocks around the al-Aqsa Mosque and how to restrict access.

It can usually get tense during Ramadan because Palestinians want to go there and pray, it is especially important during Ramadan.

If they are stopped by soldiers, it can erupt violence, says Samir Abu Eid.

The United States condemns

Following the act in Tel Aviv on April 7, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett gave the country's army and security services "full freedom of action" in the fight against the deadly attacks.

Since then, the country's military presence has increased in the West Bank, and in the past week, Israeli forces have carried out several operations, according to the Palestinian Health Authority.

According to the White House, US Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday in talks with Israeli President Isaac Herzog condemned "recent terrorist attacks" in Israel.
