The child came to the emergency room at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå with breathing problems.

But the low blood sugar was detected just over five hours after the first tests.

This in connection with the child being moved to intensive care.

Then treatment was also started.

According to the report, the staff had missed three test results that showed too low blood sugar in the patient.

Relatives state that they pointed out to the staff that the child was cramping but should not be heard.

The child became unconscious and suffered a brain injury which resulted in a hemiplegic paralysis.

The Health and Care Inspectorate has investigated the incident and is now criticizing the pediatrician who was responsible.

The doctor has admitted that he should have noticed the low blood sugar.

However, Hen has highlighted that there was a strained situation at the hospital at the time and that there were several bad children who were in need of care.
