Clémentine Portier-Kaltenbach 4:45 p.m., April 14, 2022

On April 12, 1912, around 11:30 p.m., the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg.

As the liner gradually sinks into the frozen ocean, the orchestra led by violinist Wallace Hartley (1878-1912) plays catchy tunes to prevent passengers from panicking...

A few days after the sinking of the Titanic, a boat is tasked with recovering the bodies of the 1,500 victims of the disaster, including the eight members of the orchestra.

When the body of Wallace Hartley is fished out, we find his violin against him… After the last tune played on this terrible night, he would have said to the musicians who accompanied him: “It was a privilege to play with you this evening”.

Clémentine Portier-Kaltenbach leaves in 1912 and tells you a chilling story.
