It is understood that this work started in October 2021. After county-level declaration, provincial-level recommendation, expert review, public announcement and other links, 96 counties (cities, districts, fields) including Qing'an County in Heilongjiang Province were identified as national-level systems. It has been recognized as a large variety of counties, and 20 counties (cities, districts) including Xingcheng City in Liaoning Province have been identified as regional breeding bases for fine varieties.
In addition to the previously identified 100 regional breeding bases, there are 216 national-level breeding bases in my country.
The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said that this is an important measure to implement the decision and deployment of the revitalization of the seed industry, implement the improvement action of the seed industry base, and improve the supply guarantee capacity of seed sources. It is reported that the base identified that in terms of crop scope, the central government has implemented the requirements for stabilizing grain production and expanding soybean oil planting, and appropriately increased the number of large rice, wheat, soybean, and rapeseed seed production counties and regional breeding bases; in terms of regional layout , focusing on supporting the advantageous production areas, taking into account the needs of different ecological areas for seed use, expanding the scope of the southern breeding bases for winter and summer breeding, and arranging the northeast pole early-maturing corn and southwest tropical blood corn seed production bases.
The person in charge said that during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, with the support of relevant parties, a total of more than 5 billion yuan of central funds was allocated to support the construction of seed production bases, which met the needs of more than 70% of the country's main crop production.
