The Abu Dhabi Family Court and Civil and Administrative Cases rejected a man’s case against his friend, who demanded that he pay him 350 thousand dirhams for the cost of raising and preparing camels to participate in camel races.

In the details, a specialist in camel racing filed a lawsuit against his friend, demanding that he pay him an amount of 350,000 dirhams, noting that he has long experience in the field of camel racing, and asked him to invest part of it in buying camels to participate in camel races. That its participation be in his (the plaintiff’s) name, and it was agreed orally, by virtue of the friendship relationship, that the friend would take care of the camel breeding and its equipment, for 350 thousand dirhams annually.

The plaintiff explained that his friend transferred to him one million and 560 thousand dirhams in payments to buy camels to compete in camel races, and during that period he did not commit to paying 350 thousand dirhams, represented in the costs, expenses and equipment of the camels.

While the defendant filed a counterclaim, he demanded to compel the plaintiff to transfer the ownership of his common share on industrial land, and oblige him to return three million and 110 thousand dirhams.

The court clarified in the merits of the ruling that what is established from the papers is that the subject matter of the original lawsuit relates to a financial claim regarding the equipment for entering camel races, while the subject of the corresponding lawsuit is completely different, which is the transfer of ownership and a financial claim resulting from that property, and they are two different topics, despite the union of their parties, What is not fulfilled with the requirements of accepting the opposite case, and the court ruled in the original case by rejecting it, obligating the plaintiff to pay fees and expenses, and in the opposite case not accepting it, and obliging the plaintiff to pay fees and expenses.
