The U.S. State Department has officially announced that Special Representative for North Korea Sung Kim, who is the chief U.S. representative for the North Korean nuclear negotiation, will visit South Korea from the 18th to the 22nd.



During his visit to Korea, Kim is expected to meet with the new government, including Roh Kyu-duk, head of the Korean Peninsula Peace Relations Headquarters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as other officials of the next government, such as the Presidential Takeover Committee, to coordinate the direction of the new government's response to North Korea.



During this visit, the State Department explained that Kim would discuss the situation on the Korean Peninsula, including the international community's response to North Korea's test-fire of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).
