Evoking a "new danger for the cohesion of the French population", the president of the central Consistory Elie Korchia and the chief rabbi of France Haïm Korsia "call to overcome political divisions and to vote for Emmanuel Macron" in order to "guarantee the preservation of republican principles as humanist values ​​advocated by Judaism".

In a press release released on Tuesday, the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions of France (Crif), a body of political representation, had called "to block Marine Le Pen and to vote massively for Emmanuel Macron", invoking the need for a "union republican".

"The Crif recalls its constant opposition to the National Rally, whose history and positions are contrary to the republican values ​​carried by the Jews of France", added the Council, for which "our individual freedoms, our social diversity, our traditions and the stability of our country are at stake".

Third major organization of French Judaism, very active in education and solidarity in particular, the Unified Jewish Social Fund (FSJU) has taken a comparable position through the voice of its president, Ariel Goldmann.

"Because the essential is at stake: freedom of conscience and freedom of worship, I call for Emmanuel Macron to vote," he tweeted on Tuesday.

The Jewish institutions are upwind against the will of Marine Le Pen to prohibit in France the slaughter of animals without stunning, therefore the Jewish and Muslim ritual slaughter, even if the RN candidate recently specified that the import of kosher meat or halal would still be possible.

"It is for Jewish citizens, just as for Muslim citizens, a serious attack on the possibility of freely exercising their religious practice, which is a pillar of our Constitution", writes the Consistory in its press release.
