Eleven days before the second round of the presidential election, Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron both hope to gather for the final deadline.

To do this, the outgoing president says he is open to proposals from all sides to complete his program and seduces the electorate on the left by inflecting some of his positions.

Emmanuel Macron pursues his goal of openness.

The Head of State promises to pick up the good ideas where they are, on the right as on the left.

But in recent days, it is clearly to the voters of Jean-Luc Mélenchon that Emmanuel Macron is addressing.

The outgoing president is convinced of this: it is there, among the voters of the rebellious candidate, that one of the keys to the second round of the presidential election is to be found.

Possible change in pension reform

The rebellious leader achieved a big score in the first round: 22% of the vote.

And among his voters, only 38% have so far planned to vote for the head of state in ten days.

So, Emmanuel Macron puts the bar on the left by evoking a possible inflection on the pension reform at the start of the week then by highlighting ecology this Wednesday.

A theme very present in the program of Jean-Luc Mélenchon and obviously, in that of Yannick Jadot.

And on Tuesday, in Strasbourg, Emmanuel Macron addressed a young veiled girl, telling her this.

Emmanuel Macron's reversal on the veil

"Having a young girl who wears the veil, in Strasbourg, who asks me 'are you a feminist?' is the best answer to all the nonsense I hear", declared Emmanuel Macron, then adding: "Because on the other side there is Madame Le Pen who says 'the veil will be prohibited in the public square with me'".

The exchange, very commented, illustrates a reversal of Emmanuel Macron on the subject.

In 2018, he spoke of the veil as an "object which makes us feel insecure and which does not conform to civility".

A turn in the form of a foot call to the community vote.

According to a poll, 69% of Muslim voters voted for Jean-Luc Mélenchon in the first round.
