He believes that the new party is a way for Gudrun Schyman to be able to stay in municipal politics.

- She is probably not amused by sitting down and sitting and rolling her thumbs.

She has previously represented the Feminist Initiative.

If she wants to stay in municipal politics, she must form a new party, says Anders Sannerstedt, political scientist at Lund University, to SVT Nyheter Skåne.

For many years, Gudrun Schyman was party leader for the Left Party.

Later she started the Feminist Initiative which she represented in the municipal council in Simrishamn until she left the party earlier this year.

At present, Schyman sits as a political savage in Simrishamn's council.

On Tuesday, she presents her new party Climate Initiative Simrishamn.

- It is not easy to form a new environmental party and believe that you should join the municipal council.

But Gudrun Schyman is a well-known person and certainly a voter, so in her name they could get a mandate.

Otherwise it would probably have been difficult, says Anders Sannerstedt.

Party with green profile

Climate initiative Simrishamn is a party that focuses on issues around the environment and climate.

- This seems to be a niche party with a very clear factual profile.

The most important thing if you start a local party is that you have an issue that engages the citizens of the municipality.

Take, for example, the prison party Älska Svedala or the tram party Partiet Förnyalund.

If you have such a question, it is much easier, says Anders Sannerstedt, and continues:

- However, I am not sure that the environmental issue is such an issue in Simrishamn.

But Gudrun Schyman is a very famous person so it can probably slip in a mandate or two on it.

In parallel with the Simrishamn Climate Initiative, Gudrun Schyman is currently working with another environmentally profiled party - the Climate Alliance - which is running in the parliamentary elections.
