She noted that her husband was illegally detained on April 12 by the SBU on the personal instructions of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and "now illegally held in an unknown place as a hostage." 

“I ask you, dear Mr. President, to use your influence to save and release my husband, Viktor Medvedchuk,” Marchenko said.

Earlier, Medvedchuk's wife turned to Zelensky with a request to release her husband.

On April 12, the Ukrainian president released a photo of Medvedchuk sitting in handcuffs.

Later, he offered to exchange the detained Medvedchuk for Ukrainian prisoners of war.
