In Occitania, abstention reached 21.75% on Sunday for the first round of the presidential election against 18.54% in 2017. This is better than in the rest of France (26.31%);
but to create a participatory start, Carole Delga, the socialist president of the region, announces that regional trains and coaches (liO) will be free on Saturday April 23 and Sunday April 24, the weekend of the second round.
It is a question of “allowing the greatest number, in particular young people sometimes far from their family home, to go to the polls”, explains the elected official.
Concerning regional coaches, it will suffice to present your voter's card when boarding.
For TER, free tickets are to be reserved from this Saturday, April 16 on 0800 31 31 31 (free call), subject to sending by email a copy of your identity card and your voter's card. .
