Regarding the situation in Ukraine, the Liberal Democratic Party made a proposal to Prime Minister Kishida on the 14th, saying that the need for UN reform is increasing, including restraining the exercise of veto rights by permanent members and expanding the number of members. I will submit it and ask for diplomatic efforts to realize it.

According to the recommendations made by the LDP, Russia, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, has made a military invasion of Ukraine and has vetoed the resolutions of each country calling for the withdrawal of the military. , Points out that the United Nations is not functioning and is demonstrating the need for reform.

On top of that, the Security Council will be reformed by curbing the exercise of veto rights by permanent members and expanding the number of members in collaboration with Germany, Brazil, and India, which are aiming to become permanent members together with Japan. It should be planned.

It also calls for the early deletion of the so-called "former enemy state clause" of the UN Charter, which defines Japan and Germany, which are defeated countries in World War II, as "enemy countries".

The Liberal Democratic Party will submit this proposal to Prime Minister Kishida on the 14th, calling for continued diplomatic efforts to realize it.
