"I have never heard I believe any of your colleagues complain about the way they were treated in this presidential campaign, even if it is sometimes quite difficult given the number", assured Ms. le Pen, visiting Vernon (Eure), when she was questioned about the sometimes stormy relationship between her party and the press.

She affirmed not to choose the journalists likely to follow her: "I never did that".

Relaunched on the ostracism of which the journalists of the TMC program would more particularly be victims in the follow-up of her campaign, Ms Le Pen affirmed: "there are no journalists at Quotidien (...) It is not a news or journalist show. It's an entertainer, sometimes very funny by the way, it's an entertainment show."

Relations between the RN and the press have sometimes been fraught with tension.

In September 2019, the RN had temporarily withdrawn the accreditation of a journalist from Liberation to cover his summer university in Fréjus (Var), after the daily broadcast of a portrait of the RN mayor of the city.

In Mayotte in December, the Mayotte Hebdo media protested against the National Rally's ban on one of its journalists from continuing to follow Marine Le Pen's campaign on the island.

Journalists from Mediapart, until this campaign, and from the Quotidien program are not always accredited to the candidate's meetings or press conferences.
