This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a joint statement following the meeting in the "2 + 2" format between the heads of the Foreign and Defense Ministries of the two countries.

“The ministers called on the Taliban to comply with UNSCR 2593 (2021), which requires that the territory of Afghanistan should never again be used to threaten or attack any country, to hide or train terrorists, or to plan or finance terrorist attacks,” — noted in the appeal.

It is specified that the ministers of the two countries also called on the Taliban to fulfill all other obligations: to respect the human rights of all Afghans, including women, children and minorities, to maintain freedom of movement.

On February 11, it became known that US President Joe Biden signed a decree blocking $ 7 billion of assets of the Central Bank of Afghanistan stored in US banks.

Afghan assets held in US bank accounts have been sent to a single special trust fund at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

The official representative of the Taliban movement*, which came to power in Afghanistan, called this decision a theft, which speaks of "the highest level of human and moral decline of the country and people."

* "Taliban" - the organization is under UN sanctions for terrorist activities.
