At least 16 people were injured in a shooting at a New York subway station on the way to work.

According to the New York Police Department (NYPD) on the 12th (local time), a man in a safety vest at a construction site wore a gas mask when a New York Subway Line N train approached Brooklyn 36th Street Station at 8:24 a.m. that day, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD). I took out a smoke grenade from my bag and exploded it.

The man then opened fire indiscriminately at the passengers.

According to a video of the situation at the time, after the incident, when the car door was opened, frightened passengers rushed out to the platform at once.

Fire officials said 16 people were injured in a smoke-filled subway station, of which 10 were shot.

Five people were seriously injured, but they are said to be in a non-life-threatening condition.

The suspect is a strong, black male with a height of 160 cm. He fled the scene and is being pursued by the NYPD.

New York Police Department (NYPD) Commissioner Keychant Sewell said at a press conference that the shooting did not appear to be a terrorist attack, but that the investigation was open to all possibilities.

Meanwhile, some local media previously reported that police and fire departments had found an additional detonator attached to the 36th Street station in Brooklyn, where the incident occurred, but it was confirmed that this was not true.

After the shooting that day, the police stationed special forces police around the scene to prepare for any contingency.

Some schools have issued school closures.

President Joe Biden was also briefed on the incident, the White House said.
