It crashed just after takeoff.

Sunday morning, the crash of a passenger plane killed three people at Trémuson airport near Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d'Armor).

The tragedy occurred around 11:20 a.m.

While taking off, the aircraft crashed less than 200 meters from the runway in a rapeseed field.

All three people on board the plane died instantly.

They are the pilot, "a 62-year-old man living in Saint-Brieuc" and the two passengers, "a woman and a man, both aged 27 and living in Pordic who seemed to be on a leisure flight", indicates in a press release Nicolas Heitz, public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc.

The aircraft had recently been overhauled

In the aftermath of the tragedy, we still do not know the reasons for the crash of the plane, a Robin brand and type DR400 aircraft dating from 2008. According to the first elements, the plane, which belongs to the Trémuson flying club, had been “recently revised”, according to the press release from the prosecution.

The pilot also had a valid license and had last flown in February.

The weather conditions were also “compatible with the planned flight”, specifies Nicolas Heitz.

An autopsy of the pilot's body is to take place this Monday at the Rennes forensic institute.
