Thousands of animals are injured in the war in Ukraine.

It reports, among other things, the animal organization UAnimal, which is in place in the country to help war-affected animals.

Hundreds of dead dogs were recently found at an animal shelter in the city of Borodjanka, after Russian forces left the city.

The dogs are said to have been locked in cages since the start of the war and left without food and water.

Left on the streets

At the same time, there are alarms about the lack of food and medicine for the pets left on the streets of Ukraine's bombed-out cities.

- Many have taken their pets with them, but a large proportion have been forced to leave them.

It is told about dogs and cats starving in the streets, says Carina Olsson, chairman of the organization Dogs without a home.
