Denise Norström (S), is the one who earns the most.
As chairman of the regional board, she receives a fee of 918,000 per year.
In addition to her, there are twelve full-time politicians who earn over half a million a year on their political deeds.
But the politicians in Västmanland do not set their own fees.
The benefits follow the income base amount, the highest possible pensionable income.
Full-time regional politicians receive 95 percent of the income base amount;
SEK 67,000 a month for 2022.
The Left Party has proposed that the compensation be reduced.
They believe that 60 percent of the income base amount, corresponding to a monthly salary of 42,000 would be enough.
