A 31-year-old woman was tried on Friday by the correctional court of Albertville (Savoie) for breach of trust.

Accountant in a real estate agency, she allegedly embezzled 2.3 million euros between 2015 and 2018, reports

The manager of the agency filed a complaint against his accountant in March 2018 after noting fraudulent transfers to the company's accounts.

When questioned, the suspect explained to the gendarmes in charge of the investigation that she had acted under the influence of her lover, to whom she paid the money.

Court decision on May 20

The lover, his ex-wife, his brother, a former mistress and four friends were also tried on Friday for concealment of breach of trust.

Everyone would have benefited from this money.

The lover admitted the facts, but denied having any influence on the defendant.

The others all denied the facts.

The prosecution requested three years in prison suspended against the accountant, and three years including two suspended for her former lover.

For the others, prison sentences with a simple reprieve have been requested.

The court's decision will be handed down on May 20.
