Return match for Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen.

As in 2017, the Head of State and the candidate of the National Rally are entering the second round of the presidential election.

And, they should definitely end up neck and neck in the second round.

Enough to relaunch the war between the two adversaries...

ANALYSIS

Like an air of deja vu.

Emmanuel Macron (27.6%) and Marine Le Pen (23.4%) are once again both qualified for the second round of the election.

Some polls for the second round, like that of Ifop, for example, predict a very close score between the two candidates.

51% for the head of state and 49% for the frontist.

For the next fortnight, the opponents will not make gifts.

Macron will finally campaign

And we can even speak of a war to the death.

It will be played directly in fairness, on the ground.

This morning, Emmanuel Macron is in Denain, in the North, a city where he did not come out on top in the first round.

But precisely, the candidate president wants to tear out the voices with his teeth on the lands of Marine Le Pen and Jean-Luc Mélenchon to talk about social issues, purchasing power and try to show that a victory for Marine Le Pen would lead to the ruin of the popular classes.

He will be in Strasbourg tomorrow, a symbol to play the match against the Europe of nations, dear to Marine Le Pen.

He will do a meeting between two outdoor laps in Marseille next Sunday, and maybe two or even three more meetings.

Emmanuel Macron repeated it last night: nothing is over.

Several of his relatives explain that he will finally campaign, that his real campaign begins today.

Mission to seduce the voters of Mélenchon

For her part, Marine Le Pen will mobilize all her forces to try to break the Republican front which is trying to put its rival in place.

Show that it won't work and above all, display your credibility to govern.

By going into the field as much as possible to promote his project.

Interestingly, both candidates say they want to pull together.

Emmanuel Macron rakes wide from the electorate of Valérie Pécresse on the far left and on the other side, Marine Le Pen should benefit from a large carryover from the 7% of voters who supported Eric Zemmour, who called to vote for she last night, and also from some of the voters of Valérie Pécresse, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan.

But the most important are the voters of Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

It is clearly the rebellious who holds the keys to the second round.

And besides, Emmanuel Macron like Marine Le Pen are attacking the 7.6 million votes of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, a sort of determining ballot for the second round.

But beyond Jean-Luc Mélenchon's voting instructions, for the majority of his voters, a Macron vote is impossible as hatred is strong.

After having long suffered criticism from her detractors on her reputedly too left-wing economic program, Marine Le Pen now wants to make it an asset to convince the Mélenchonists.

So it has already started by fully playing his opposition to retirement at 65 defended by Emmanuel Macron.
