The Swedish giant, which had already temporarily suspended its activities at the end of February after Moscow's invasion of Ukraine, indicates that this decision is now sine die and says "to be in contact with its customers and partners".

"The priority is to focus on the safety and well-being of Ericsson employees in Russia who will be placed on paid leave," the company wrote in a statement.

The Swedish group, which employs around 600 people in Russia, is "a major supplier of the largest operator MTS and the fourth operator Tele2", according to an Ericsson spokeswoman.

Russia and Ukraine account for less than 2% of the Stockholm-based group's turnover.

A provision of 900 million crowns (87 million euros) will be placed in the group's accounts for the first quarter, published on April 14.
