Representative Lee Tae-gyu of the People's Party announced today (11th) that he would step down from his position as a member of the Presidential Transition Committee.

Lee is also considered to be a close associate of Ahn Cheol-soo, chairman of the transition committee, and it seems that there was a conflict over the new government's position as minister.

More details will be provided by reporter Eom Min-jae.

Representative Lee Tae-gyu of the People's Party suddenly announced this afternoon, "I am resigning from my position as a transition committee member for the presidency."

He continued, "There are several ministries' stances, but there is no stance at all."

Rep. Lee, who is called the closest aide to Ahn Cheol-soo's transition chairperson, was in charge of the negotiation behind the scenes in the process of unification of Candidates Yoon Seok-yeol and Ahn Cheol-soo.

After his election, he joined as a member of the Planning and Coordination Subcommittee of the Transition Committee, and his position as the Minister of Public Administration and Security in the new government was strongly discussed.

Rep. Lee met with SBS reporter on the 8th and said, "I will do it if I have the will and can afford it." When asked if the Minister of Public Administration and Security has the will, he also answered "yes".

Under this circumstance, it seems that a conflict has arisen as none of Chairman Ahn's personnel are included in the first list of cabinet appointments announced yesterday.

Chairman Ahn said yesterday to the effect that he recommended some personnel

.

The key is whether Rep. Lee had previously consulted with Chairman Ahn before the announcement of his resignation, but Chairman Ahn remained silent.

It is also known that the upcoming unity between the People's Power and the People's Party has been postponed.

Depending on the wave, there is even a prospect that the formation of a 'common government' agreed upon by President-elect Yoon and Chairman Ahn may turn on a red flag.
