The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the death of a female citizen, shot by the Israeli occupation forces, at the entrance to the village of Husan, west of Bethlehem, at a time when the occupation forces continued arrests and threatened to carry out a large-scale operation similar to the "protective market" in Jenin.

The Palestinian Ministry said that the woman, who was identified by the Palestinian News Agency as Ghada Sabateen (47 years), arrived at Beit Jala Hospital with a cut in the leg artery, and she had lost a large amount of blood.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that Sebatin was stopped by a soldier at the military checkpoint at the entrance to the town, and spoke to her, but another soldier fired live bullets at her lower body without posing any danger.

Citizens were able to free her from the occupation soldiers to take her to the hospital, minutes after the soldiers tried to detain her. The soldiers fired tear gas canisters to disperse a number of Palestinians who had gathered at the site.

Dozens arrested

The Israeli occupation forces stormed the village of Ya'bad in Jenin at dawn today, Sunday, to arrest a number of Palestinians, and Palestinian youths clashed with the occupation forces, which led to the fall of several forests.

The Prisoner's Club said that the occupation forces arrested at least 25 Palestinians in different parts of the West Bank last night.

He added that half of the detainees are from Jenin governorate, especially from the town of Yabad and Jenin camp, and that most of the detainees are former prisoners.

The club indicated that the arrests included citizens in Tulkarm, Nablus, Jericho and occupied Jerusalem, and all detainees were transferred to Israeli military investigation centers.

In a related context, the Prisoners Information Office said that the occupation prisons administration prevents Jenin prisoners from visiting on security grounds as a punitive measure.

For his part, the Israeli army spokesman, Avichai Adraee, said that a raid was carried out in the village of Yabad in the northern West Bank, in search of what he said were prohibited weapons. The family was given the possibility to file an objection to the demolition order, he said.

For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said that there will be no restrictions on the work and activities of the army, public security and the rest of the Israeli security services in its war against what he described as terrorism.

At the beginning of the weekly session of his government, Bennett confirmed that the Israeli security forces are moving in all fields and directions, as he put it.

Repeated "protective market"

The Israeli Minister of Internal Security, Omer Bar-Lev, indicated that the Israeli authorities are studying the possibility of carrying out a large-scale military operation in Jenin, similar to Operation Defensive Shield, with which the occupying forces invaded the West Bank, including Palestinian Authority areas, in 2002.

Bar-Lev's statements came in an interview with the Israeli Army Radio, in which he indicated that within the framework of such an operation, the Jenin area would be invaded by three military brigades to address what he described as the quagmire of terrorism, as he put it.

And the Israeli occupation authorities announced a series of measures related to the movements of Palestinians in the West Bank - specifically in the Jenin governorate - based on a decision by Defense Minister Benny Gantz.

The military spokesman said that the measures come in the wake of recent events in the Jenin area, and include preventing merchants and businessmen from entering the area from entering Israel.

And Israeli forces managed at dawn on Friday, after a chase in the streets of Tel Aviv, to locate the attacker, Raad Fathi Hazem, 28, the perpetrator of the Tel Aviv attack, and killed him in an exchange of fire.

On the Israeli side, since last March 22, 14 people were killed in separate attacks in Beersheba (south), Hadera (north), Bnei Brak and Tel Aviv (north).
