Egypt .. a decision to prevent Hajj at the expense of the state .. and there is no Hajj except for the obligatory

Egyptian Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Mukhtar Gomaa

The Egyptian Minister of Endowments, Mohamed Mukhtar Gomaa, confirmed that the Supreme Committee for Hajj, headed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, decided in full to prevent the pilgrimage at the expense of the state.

Jumaa said in a telephone interview with the “Paper and the Pen” program broadcast on the “Ten” channel: “There is absolutely no pilgrimage for anyone at the state’s expense, and when there is a prioritization of health, education, and priority in care, with certainty and in one word, there is no pilgrimage at state expense.” , adding: "The decision found great popular and national acceptance. Why should a person monopolize the Hajj at the expense of the state and not the other? The pilgrimage is for the one who can afford it."

And he stated: “There is a difference between the obligatory and the supererogatory Hajj. Therefore, a decision was taken to limit the Hajj to the obligatory Hajj, that is, to the person who has not performed Hajj before, to provide the opportunity for those who have not performed Hajj before.” He continued: “Some say I want to perform Hajj more than once so that he is forgiven.” God is mine, but whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith, his previous sins will be forgiven.

He explained: "The supererogatory pilgrimage is beneficial to you personally, but fulfilling people's needs is up to many, and the decisions come within the framework of achieving the legitimate purposes, and we hope that in the coming years there will be no pilgrimage at the state's expense, and no pilgrimage except for the obligatory one."

He concluded: "If a person uses the superfluous Hajj funds for food, clothing, treatment, and provision of medical supplies, the avenues of goodness are wide."

The Higher Ministerial Committee for Hajj held its meeting today, headed by Mustafa Madbouly, in the presence of the Minister of Endowments, and a number of officials of the concerned authorities, where the Prime Minister confirmed that the meeting comes within the framework of discussing preparations for the Hajj season this year, and ensuring that the necessary controls are achieved to ensure the preservation of the health and safety of pilgrims. .

For his part, Gomaa indicated that a coordination meeting was held with officials of the ministries and relevant authorities, and it was agreed not to allow Hajj at the expense of the state or any of its affiliates this year, and therefore there is no Hajj at the expense of the Ministry of Awqaf this year, within the framework of implementing the principle of The jurisprudence of priorities, given the fact that meeting the needs of the needy is a thousand and one times first and greater in reward and higher in reward than repeating Hajj and Umrah.

The Minister of Awqaf indicated that the meeting witnessed an agreement on distributing any number that will be allowed to the organizing bodies, with the Hajj this year being restricted to the obligatory Hajj for those who have not previously performed Hajj.
