Today, Sunday, Israel announced that the occupation army is in the process of carrying out a new military operation in the city of Jenin, as it hinted at the possibility of carrying out a wide invasion, and approved a series of measures related to the movements of Palestinians, specifically in the Jenin governorate in the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli army said in a brief statement that "the Israeli forces are currently carrying out an operation in the city of Jenin."

As IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi said in a video broadcast by the army, "We will do whatever must be done and whatever is necessary as long as and wherever necessary to restore security."

In turn, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said, "We affirm once again that there are no restrictions on the work of the army, the Shin Bet and the rest of the security services in the war on terror."

The Palestinian Prisoners Club stated that the Israeli forces arrested 24 people from separate areas in the occupied West Bank, most of them from the city of Jenin and its villages.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health also confirmed that 11 people were injured in the "Israeli occupation attacks at dawn and Sunday morning in Jenin, Tulkarm, Jericho and the Jordan Valley," most of them with live bullets.

The Israeli occupation forces stormed Ya'bad village in Jenin at dawn today, to arrest a number of Palestinians.

Young men also clashed with the occupation forces, which led to several injuries.

The Israeli army spokesman, Avichai Adraee, said that a raid was carried out in the village of Yabad in the northern West Bank, as part of a wide operation of arrests and searches.

He added that these operations came in search of what he said were prohibited weapons in the village from which the perpetrator of the shooting attack in Bani Brak, during which five settlers were killed.

Israeli sources revealed that the elite forces known as "Shayetet/Al-Tarad", the Aguz units and the Golani Brigade carried out the incursion and raided the homes of the families of the perpetrators of the recent armed operations in Tel Aviv and Bnei Brak.

The military operation coincides with preparations in the city of Kfar Saba (central) and the agricultural settlement of Ginosar (north) for the funeral of three Israelis killed in the Tel Aviv attack.

At dawn on Friday, after a chase in the streets of Tel Aviv, Israeli forces managed to locate the 28-year-old attacker, Raad Fathi Hazem, the perpetrator of the Tel Aviv attack, and killed him in an exchange of fire.

Earlier, the Israeli Minister of Internal Security, Omer Bar-Lev, indicated that the Israeli authorities are studying the possibility of carrying out a large-scale military operation in Jenin, similar to Operation Defensive Shield, with which the occupation forces invaded the West Bank, including the Palestinian Authority areas, in 2002.

Bar-Lev's statements came in an interview with the Israeli Army Radio, in which he indicated that within the framework of such an operation, the Jenin area will be invaded by three military brigades, in order to address what he described as the quagmire of terrorism, as he put it.

In the same context, the Israeli occupation authorities announced a series of measures related to the movements of Palestinians in the West Bank, specifically in the Jenin Governorate, based on a decision by Defense Minister Benny Gantz.

The military spokesman said that the measures come in the wake of the recent events in the Jenin area, including preventing merchants and businessmen from the Jenin area from entering Israel.

Nor will it be allowed to enter and exit the Palestinians inside and outside Jenin, by means of transportation or walking through the Jumla and Barta'a crossings.

The procedures also stipulate stopping the transfer of rock aggregate by DTD method through the crossings in Jenin Governorate.

He added that due to the security situation, family visits will not be allowed for Palestinians from the Jenin area within the 5,000 approved permits.


Palestinian condemnation

In response, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned in a statement the Israeli military attack on Jenin camp on Saturday morning.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said that the Israeli attack on Jenin was a deliberate escalation against the Palestinian people, their land and their holy sites.
