Al-Haddad: Feeding food as part of the “Billion Meals” initiative is a good handout

Dr. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Haddad, Senior Mufti, Director of the Ifta Department at the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai, confirmed that feeding food to the needy, the poor and needy families is part of the “One Billion Meals” initiative, the largest of its kind in the region, which was launched on the first day of the holy month of Ramadan to provide relief Insolvent persons in 50 countries around the world, is one of the best alms.

His Eminence praised the role of the contributors to the initiatives to feed the food and provide food aid to the hungry, because by their donations they provide a food safety net for many who do not find their livelihood.

Dr. Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al-Haddad said: “One of the beauties of our Islamic law, and its humanitarian law, is its call to feed the needy, seeking the face of God Almighty, and in fulfillment of the right of man who lives with his fellow man in the homeland, or in any country. Those who are fed are their brothers from among the sons of man, so the Almighty said: {And they feed the needy, the orphan and the captive to food for His love.

And about the reward for giving, his eminence explained that: “The believer’s business is to believe in God’s promise to those who give him in His cause and to seek His pleasure: from the difference in this world, and the fullest reward in the other, and from blessing in money, health, children and other things, as many evidences came from the book of our Lord Almighty And the Sunnah of our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and from that his saying, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, his family and his companions: “O people, spread the greetings of peace, feed the food, pray the wombs, and pray while the people are sleeping, you will enter Paradise in peace.” It is an address to all people to do these beautiful actions that are From noble morals, and feeding food to everyone who needs it, for every moist liver has a reward as mentioned in the two Sahihs.”

He added: "The initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, may God Almighty preserve him, to feed a billion people, is one of the benefits of creation, which is a reason for the love of God Almighty, and the love of His creation for him, because God Almighty, if he loves a servant, places his love in the hearts of his servants as it is true in the hadith, and it is one of the Indication of the good that the signifier has like the reward of alms-giving, and it is above that a refined human sensitivity to the needs of those in need, and striving to meet their need.

He said: "This human sensibility is one of the beauties of Islam, as it calls for humanity to be above all considerations, and His Highness, may God preserve him, lives with humanity, so we see him day after day striving for its advancement and happiness, as well as easing the burdens of life on the human being, as he does not cease from humanitarian initiatives; Educating, educating, human development, feeding, treating and watering...so that the ink of the first initiative hardly dries up until a larger initiative follows, and look at the difference between the initiative to feed 100 million people last year, to the initiative of one billion people this year, to see the great difference between the two initiatives.

 Regarding the awareness role of the Billion Meals Initiative, he said: “If statistics indicate that 800 million people need food, then here is the billion that feeds them and overflows, and even if it is feeding for a specific time, this increase draws the attention of all people to contribute to feeding them until they meet their hunger in the rest of the world. times."

He added: "Islam enjoins the wealth of the rich as a right for the poor, from zakat, penances, vows, and ransom of various kinds, as well as its frequent exhortation to lend to God a good loan, so the poor takes all of that into his own hands, but the rich puts it in the hands of God Almighty, so he develops it for him as one of us grows. His family, as stated, and this is what a person should feel, rich or poor, for God Almighty calls all of his servants to be kind to his creation from a little or a lot, but perhaps a little is closer to acceptance than a lot, and as it was stated “a dirham preceded a hundred thousand dirhams.”

His Eminence called on everyone to contribute to giving and doing good, saying: “It is incumbent on all people, Muslims and others, and those who are able to do a lot or a little. Everyone should hurry in the competition for good deeds and hasten to what pleases the Lord of creation, for every person is in the shadow of his charity on the Day of Resurrection, as stated in the authentic hadith. And it was narrated from him, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, his family and his companions, his saying: (Beware of Hellfire, even if it is half a date) and he said (O women, do not belittle the neighbor of her neighbour, even if you gift her a horse a sheep) meaning because a little is with God a lot, and nothing is worse than a little, and the truth of God Almighty He says: {So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it}.

The "Billion Meals" initiative receives donations through four approved channels, namely the website www.1billionmeals.ae and bank transfer to the account of the "Billion Meals" initiative on the approved account number: AE300260001015333439802 at Emirates NBD in UAE dirhams.

If you wish to donate one dirham per day to the initiative through a monthly subscription, you can send a text message with the word “Meal” or “Meal” to the number 1020 for users of the “du” network, or to the number 1110 for users of the “Etisalat” network in the UAE.
