Since the outbreak of war, almost 600 Ukrainians have come to Norrbotten.
Until now, the Swedish Migration Agency has been able to accommodate all of them in their existing accommodation.
The authority now states that there is a need for additional places to be able to take care of the people who come to Sweden.
Therefore, it is now opening up 228 places on Cape East in Haparanda.
- What is happening is very terrible, there are already 4.2 million people fleeing Ukraine, says Tobias Lindfors, CEO and main owner of Pite Havsbad Group.
About 100 people arrived already on Thursday.
How many more refugees will arrive, and when, is currently unclear.
