Meghan Markle is giving up one of her royal roles to sever ties with the palace

Meghan Markle is still trying to get as far away from royal life as possible and cut ties with the royal palace.

And according to the British “Mirror” website, the Duchess of Sussex announced the end of the royal care she provides to the Mayhew Animal Charity.

This is one of the royal roles that she had retained after she and Prince Harry gave up royal duties and left the country in 2020.

The London-based charity announced the termination of the Duchess's sponsorship, adding that working closely with the Duchess was a "privilege".

Markle shared her end of care letter, first detailing the heartbreak she was feeling after the death of her best friend, Olly Jost, through which she knew the Mayhew Society.

The Duchess added that the new animal shelter wing will be named after her in honor of her charitable work at the association.

Megan also praised the charity's work during the Corona pandemic and difficult circumstances.

In her three years of supporting the charity, the Duchess has used her position to promote Mayhew's work and wrote an article highlighting the work she has done helping pet owners stranded by the pandemic.

In the wake of this, many royal insiders are wondering how long Markle and her two children will be absent from Britain, as her daughter Lilibit (10 months) has not yet met any member of the royal family and her son Archie has not been to the kingdom since 2019.
