Big emotion this Friday morning in the Saint-Etienne cathedral in Toulouse.
Around 8:40 a.m., around forty faithful were gathered for mass when, "just after communion", specifies Father Simon d'Artigue, whose colleague was officiating, a man burst in and crossed the nave.
“He placed a bag at the foot of the altar, continues the priest of the cathedral.
A sexton tried to surround her, he struggled, then fled”.
The building was immediately evacuated.
A security perimeter is now deployed around the cathedral, which adjoins the prefecture, and "the deminers are on site", specifies a police source.
Shortly before 10 a.m., the interdiction perimeter of the forecourt was moved back.
