In order to understand the actual situation of loneliness and isolation, the government conducted the first survey of 20,000 men and women aged 16 and over nationwide from December last year to January, and received responses from 11,867 people, 59%. I did.



According to that, when asked how much they feel lonely,


5% answered "often / always"

24% answered "never".



By age group, the highest percentage of respondents who answered "often / always" was in their 30s, and the lowest was in their 70s.



In addition, 54% of those who answered "often / always" said that they felt lonely for 5 years or more, indicating that the problem tends to continue for a long time.



On the other hand, 68% of the respondents answered that the number of people who meet and communicate with each other has decreased due to the influence of the new corona.



The government wants to use the results of this survey to address the problem of loneliness and isolation.
