The Swedish Migration Agency now sees a reduced need for evacuation housing, 6,000 places instead of 12,000 as the first forecast was, and has asked Sörmland's municipalities to phase out all their places except those at the old nursing home Trumslagargården in Eskilstuna municipality.

Until Thursday, just over 100 people lived at the accommodation.

In the morning, they were moved on to another accommodation in Strängnäs municipality, which has been procured by the Swedish Migration Board.

When SVT visited the accommodation earlier this week, we met the Melikov family who had fled the city of Chernihiv northeast of Kyiv, which had been hit hard since the war broke out.

Hear Nataliia Melikova talk about the accommodation in Eskilstuna in the clip above.

Trumslagargården is currently empty.

But it can still function as an evacuation accommodation until 12 April.

What happens next is not yet decided.
