Intensive inspection campaigns on 5 food sectors in Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority has announced the intensification of its inspection and awareness campaigns on food establishments operating in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi throughout the holy month of Ramadan to ensure their commitment to implementing health and safety requirements at all stages of food handling, with the aim of strengthening the food safety system, ensuring the well-being and safety of society.

Inspection campaigns also include verifying health requirements and precautionary measures regarding the prevention of the "Covid-19" virus.

Inspection campaigns during the holy month focus on 5 food sectors, including "restaurants, supermarkets, food outlets and stores, distribution centers and suppliers, and retail stores" to determine their readiness to meet the food needs of the community according to the best foundations and standards for food safety.

The inspection campaigns on food establishments coincide with a wide awareness campaign that includes workers in the food industry, food handlers and the consumer public, to provide guidance and health guidance to them at all stages of the food circulation chain, starting from receiving, storing, preparing, processing, and cooking, and ending with the stages of serving and preserving food. In addition to raising awareness about the potential risks as a result of erroneous behaviors and practices in dealing with foodstuffs and foods within the facility.
