Forbes, an American economic magazine, has released the list of the world's billionaires in 2022, which counts the world's wealthiest people with more than $1 billion in assets. Who is the richest person in Korea?



Former Kakao Chairman Kim Beom-soo and Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong respectively became the richest people in Korea with a fortune of $9.1 billion and about KRW 11.90 trillion in Korean money.



Former Chairman Kim’s fortune decreased by $200 million compared to last year, and Vice Chairman Lee’s assets, who inherited his fortune from the late Chairman Lee Kun-hee, increased by $800 million.



In third place, Celltrion's honorary Chairman Seo Jeong-jin, with assets of 8,533 trillion won, went up, followed by Song Chi-hyeong, chairman of Dunamu, the operator of Upbit, a cryptocurrency exchange.



Among the world's 2,668 billionaires, 41 were South Koreans, a decrease of 3 from last year, and among them, game companies had the most with 8.
