Al-Jazeera correspondent quoted eyewitnesses of shooting at 3 locations on Dizenkov Street in Tel Aviv, and said that the attack was still going on.
The official Israeli channel quoted witnesses as saying that they heard a huge explosion at the site of the shooting on Dizenkov Street.
Initial reports indicated that at least 6 people were injured, and the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth said that 3 were seriously injured.
For its part, the Israeli police said that there was a "terrorist operation" on Dizenkov Street in Tel Aviv, adding that one of the attackers escaped.
