A violent frontal collision occurred this Wednesday at the end of the day between a bus and a car in Fontaine (Isère), near Grenoble.

The accident, which occurred around 5 p.m., left one dead: a 10-year-old child, reports

According to the first elements, the car was driven by a 17-year-old teenager.

On board were also the young victim and an 18-year-old young woman.

The child died at the scene despite attempts at resuscitation.

40 firefighters on site

The young driver had to be extricated from the vehicle before being hospitalized, like the teenager, in the shock treatment department of the Grenoble University Hospital.

The frontal impact also caused four minor injuries in the bus which was carrying 19 passengers and the driver.

He is one of the victims.

According to witnesses, the frontal impact was very violent.

A total of 40 firefighters and 15 emergency vehicles were mobilized on site.

The police have opened an investigation to determine the precise circumstances of the accident.
